Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and device identifiers used in mobile apps.
2. How We Use Cookies
FinPulse uses cookies and similar technologies on our web platform for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies: Required for the Service to function. These handle authentication, session management, and security. You cannot opt out of essential cookies as they are necessary to use the Service.
- Preference cookies: Store your settings such as preferred currency, theme (light/dark mode), and language selection. These improve your experience but are not strictly necessary.
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the Service, which features are most popular, and where users encounter issues. We use this data to improve FinPulse.
3. Cookies We Use
| Cookie | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| fp_session | Essential | Session | Maintains your login session |
| fp_csrf | Essential | Session | Prevents cross-site request forgery |
| fp_theme | Preference | 1 year | Stores your theme preference (light/dark) |
| fp_currency | Preference | 1 year | Stores your preferred currency |
| fp_analytics | Analytics | 90 days | Anonymized usage analytics |
4. Mobile App Tracking
Our mobile applications (Android and iOS) do not use browser cookies. Instead, they use local storage for preferences and anonymized device identifiers for analytics. The same principles and choices described in this policy apply to these technologies.
You can reset your advertising identifier through your device settings (Settings → Privacy on iOS, Settings → Google → Ads on Android) to limit analytics tracking.
5. Third-Party Cookies
We do not allow third-party advertising cookies on FinPulse. The only third-party services that may set cookies are:
- Analytics provider: We use a privacy-focused analytics service that sets a single, anonymized cookie to track aggregate usage patterns. No personal data is shared.
- Error reporting: Our crash reporting tool may use a device identifier to group error reports. This data is used exclusively for debugging.
6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You can manage cookies in the following ways:
- In-app settings: Toggle analytics cookies on or off in the FinPulse settings menu under Privacy.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help documentation for instructions.
- Device settings: On mobile, you can limit ad tracking and reset device identifiers in your OS privacy settings.
Please note that disabling essential cookies may prevent the web version of FinPulse from functioning properly.
7. Do Not Track
FinPulse respects Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. When we detect a DNT signal, we disable all non-essential cookies and analytics tracking for your session.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add new features or adopt new technologies. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
